I love these evasion type games. Reminds me of a similar one I used to play a lot with rectangles. I like how the levels were all different in difficulty, slowly getting harder and harder. It's a fun game to play.

I would have liked to see a high score list for this game. It would be much more fun to compete against others rather than try to beat my own high scores.

Dorphern responds:

heh good to hear :D

I will remember the Highscore in my next version ;)

Problems with Windows XP, eh? Well I guess something half decent came out of it. I thought there were a few funny parts in this game. Trying to run ActiveX closing the IE window was funny, and the microsoft reactions to wanting to reply to your emails was fun too.

^^Needs Improving^^
Lacks a lot though. The graphics weren't very good. I think you could have done a better job at making this look more like XP. Also, some sound effects would have made this seem a lot better.

mothballs responds:

Woah. A top reviewer reviewing my flash? I'm honored :)

Anyway thanks for the review!

Not sure whether or not this tutorial would actually be considered helpful. I guess breaking down the characters would be good enough for most people. You seem to draw them pretty well, so I guess you know what you are talking about.

A lot of the times it's just like "Draw it like this" with not many tips in here at all. It seemed a bit vague to me.

Aprime responds:

lol, thanks for the review

It's a pretty well made wall avoiding game. I think the graphics really made this get the score that it has. You have very nice animations and graphical effects in this. The music is pretty cool too. A nice looking game overall.

^^Needs Improving^^
It really doesn't bring anything new to the table as far as avoider games go. It's basically no better than any other besides the graphics.

AsianSpark responds:

Thanks :)

This is definitely a nice looking tutorial. The blue theme looks really nice. Aside from the nice color scheme, I did like your preloader and how it loaded everything separately. I've never seen that done before.

The text really kills this one. The text is kind of small, which normally isn't a problem, but you picked a font that is pretty hard to read when it is small. Definitely should pick a different font, or at least cut down on the amount of words and make the text bigger.

knuxrouge responds:

Thanks, I'm glad you like it. I will change the font next time.

Well apparently you got the effect right. I've been trying to find this effect and a code that would work in CS3 for a while now. Unfortunately this one did not.

Didn't even work. I copied the script in your comments exactly as typed, and copied the other code exactly as well. Still got many bugs in the script and I'm left with a script that doesn't work.

stolen-name responds:

Sorry it did not work for you man :(
People seem to say it works
I'll try to prevent it next time, thanks for the heads up

Pretty good information here. I never thought a button tutorial could teach me anything, but I never knew there was a separate code to go to the next frame, that is interesting.

^^Needs Improving^^
Do you really need stop(); when doing a stopAllSounds();? I've never used it before. Besides what I mentioned above, really nothing in this tutorial to make it better than any of the other many button tutorials on NG.

Phantox responds:

stopAllSounds(); stops all the sounds and keeps playing the frames. stop(); stops the movie from playing.

I think that this one is different from the rest of the things on NG because this one is a lot easier to understand, IMO. Thanks for the review

A pretty comical dress up game for Inglor day. I think it's kind of funny how you decided to really only add these hair pieces that would pretty much only give the option of making him bald. The drawings were very good, and the filesize is great for this game.

^^Needs Improving^^
It's kind of lacking a lot of good pieces. The options here a pretty limited when it comes to the actual dressing up of his face. Definitely needs some more items in here.

Rantzien responds:

While this was mostly made for fun and not really intended as a serious attempt at a game, thanks for taking the time to review constructively!

Hello there! I'm a student of art, in case you didn't know. Yes, I still need to complete materials for my exam and assignment in the liberal arts and other Arts class. I'm just a old kid with a passion for the arts and communication.
