Looks like you spent a lot of time on this game. The level designs were pretty cool, they were kind of large and took some strategy to complete. The graphics were very good. Great animations and very well animated violence. The storyline was pretty random but still funny at the same time.

I really didn't enjoy this game all that much. I felt like I had to really take time to kill whatever was in my way. Like 20 punches to kill those stupid bears. In a platform game, I honestly would rather be able to just breeze through a level rather than having some long drawn out battle.

The-Mercenary responds:

The reason I made the fighting like that because I personally thought it was fun to beat the crap out of them, sorry that you didn't have fun with it.

The graphics throughout this were pretty nice. The text went well with the backgrounds, and I think maybe even the music complimented the text. A good combination.

Honestly, it doesn't look like too much has changed from what I remember of the first version. Now there is an autofire, which makes the game tons easier, and kind of boring. Also, again, no clear objective other than destroying as many bees as you can with no time limits makes for a pretty boring game.

A bit improved since the first version of this game. I like the difficulty selection. I've never even heard of most of the countries though. Also, the hint option is cool to have around. Good scoring system, overall a solid game.

^^Needs Improving^^
I would say that when you use a hint, there should be some denotation as to where the words are still scrambled. For example, just make the correct letters a different color. You could also apply this to gameplay when you aren't using hints. Just to give people who are guessing a little bit of an edge.

LuckyLollipopLad responds:

Glad you appreciate the improvements.

I'll make 'easy' contain only better known countries after comments from someone else.

The idea for having a colour-change for unscrambled letters is kick-ass. I can think of only really complicated ways to do that though, but I'll try my darndest to put it in.

I was thinking the same thing myself - that there should be some way to know which letters are unscrambled. Having a colour shift never occured to me!

Not sure what you meant with your 2nd point. Will PM.

Ta for excellent review! You've been really helpful with the development of this particular game!

There was a lot of different music in here, which was pretty cool.

I was really expecting a good tutorial here with useful information, but this was really just run-of-the mill to me. You have only basic information in this tutorial, and some of your information just doesn't make sense. You say that "when you get a gold whistle, it will be hard to find crappy reviews" which makes absolutely no sense at all. The graphics weren't that great, and you had way too much text for the information. You should also not require that quizzes be taken, which is really annoying.

highwatermark responds:

That's what the back buttons is for, if you don't like what you're reading.

I respect your opinion, but I can't really make this a useful tutorial any more than it is, mainly because there just isn't that much more information.

From what I can understand, seems like the game is sort of like Lemmings, which is of course a good game to base one off of. The retro style of graphics is cool, but the game needs to be better.

The instructions are a little odd. I had to read them twice after playing around to understand what i had to do. Try to add some pictures into that to make things more clear. Also, the game just seems a little too hectic for me. I had no idea how to lead the little electric things into the ending, since it looks like they just move randomly. Some help here?

jdcasten responds:

Thanks for the comments-- I agree the instructions need to be clearer-- I'll try to add pictures. BTW Maximillian B. was originally published in 1987 - Lemmings came out 4 years later in 1991!

This seems like a very interesting game, I just wish I knew how the hell to play it. The music was eerie, which set a good mood, and overall good concept for a game.

I'm not really impressed by this game. Your instructions cover only the very basics, and I really had no idea what the hell I was doing after reading them and your tip. I found myself just mindlessly clicking the go button and watching people die. I had no problem killing all of the world except for Africa, but alas, playing again would have no purpose, as I have no idea how I did what I did in the first place. Really this game needs a whole lot of rework in instructions and interface.

Blips responds:

Yes you can uncheck old attributes, but they require more points to uncheck. Thanks for the review.

Decent music in this. Sound effects weren't bad either, and the game had some decent graphics throughout.

Really not much to this game at all. The design of th game isn't good, with the tall screen, since it takes you so long to move up and down. A player can just completely ignore half of the screen without penalty. I also really hate it when I am killed by my enemy after I shoot it. There is the split second for the death scene, where the bee still comes at you, and I died a few times from that.

carborundum responds:

The game was only basic I was suprised to even get to 2.92 concidering Its did not take me long to make the game was just a tester For the final game the final game is very different but it was getting to work on learning basic shooting a collisions along with the ability to move If anyone wishs to per veiw the Game i am Making please send me a message and I can give you a link to my website which the tester is one updated every few updates made

This was definitely a very unique defense game. Defending against evil hamsters really isn't something I've seen before. I like how the enemies slowly looked worse and worse until they died. The two turrets and controls are easy to control. The music fit very well, and was quite funny.

^^Needs Improving^^
This is really missing the upgrade system that most defense games have. Needs a point system where you spend points. Also, perhaps some kind of higher difficulty by taking away rapid fire on both turrets.

weirdalfan1 responds:

A very well written review, i ll try and make the improvements you suggested,
Thanks
