Ahh...I used to play AOE2 quite a bit a few years ago. This tune with its medieval sound to it would definitely fit well in the game itself. Sounds very cool. I like it. It also loops quite well. It would be great to use in a game or movie.

A very cool techno song. Just the kind that I like to listen to. I like how you change this up a lot throughout the song. You turn the percussion on and off throughout, and have a lot of different melodies throughout. The only thing I don't really like is how the percussion sounds a little off in the first minute or so.

glubgluby responds:

thank you,

This is a decent base for a song, but it needs more than just this weird synth sound. You've got some good sounds in there, and the general feel of it is decent, but you need to change your instrument at some point, or it just sounds very unprofessional and gets quite boring.

glubgluby responds:

ouch...
this was sorta meant to be like that

I like the music. It's got a quick and happy pace to it, which I think is pretty fun to listen to now an again. The only thing I didn't really like was the quality of the audio. It sounded compressed quite a bit and sounded really grainy to me. Made it kind of annoying to listen to this.

WritersBlock responds:

Thanks for reviewing. I did this in 8-bit style, which is probably why you find it annoying. I'm thinking of remaking it, with less of the 8 bit sound.

Cheers

I'm not familiar with the original, but I think this is really good. The thing I like about it is how it is always changing tempo and rhythm to it. It slows down, speeds up and there are lots of different instruments used throughout this. Very harmonic and flows very nicely.

Nav responds:

Thanks for reviewing! :)

Simplicity has definitely worked for you hear. You have a basic drum loop in the background and some simple guitar sounds to go along with it. Nothing too fancy, but it really sounds pretty good when put together. A few different parts throughout make this enjoyable to listen to the whole thing.

Mataro responds:

Hey.. I put a lot of time into those drums.. xD

Simplicity was the idea, though. Happy to hear it worked out. I'm fairly proud of this one.. It's really a fun song :P

Thanks for the review! :D

Once again, not really a fan of a piece by you. I think the main reason is that there isn't enough going on in this song. It's mostly just one or two different instruments playing at one time, which doesn't lead to a very interesting song. You could have at least added some percussion or something to this to make it more interesting.

I just listened to the other audio you requested a review for, and I don't really think I like your style. There just doesn't seem to be a very dominant sound to your audios. They seem to be focusing on one instrument and sound, which makes them kind of boring to me.

TheReno responds:

I chose to respond to this one because its the one that mentions my other songs. I try not to play a dominant sound too much because I feel it takes away from the overall effect. Instead I play a base beat, one that appears throughout the song. Keeps the beat that way and I never forget where I am in a song.

Haven't seen the movie, so I'm not quite sure what these monks are. However, it was kind of a cool way to start out a metal song. Sounds like some kind of ritual going on or something. The transition didn't seem too smooth between the parts though, and that is what bothered me the most.

Bonemill responds:

Lol, they walk aorund hitting themselves in the head with bibles chanting this.

Definitely a mighty effort here. A very long track and sounds like a lot of time went into this. I'm not sure if it's the actual quality, or simply the fact that the NG audio portal is really shitty at loading songs, but the quality sounded a little off to me during some parts.

Goatchrist responds:

The bitrate reduction hurt a lot, I have a higher quality version on my myspace, if you want to hear it.

Yeah, it was a lot of work :)

Thanks for the review!

Hello there! I'm a student of art, in case you didn't know. Yes, I still need to complete materials for my exam and assignment in the liberal arts and other Arts class. I'm just a old kid with a passion for the arts and communication.
