You used a lot of more uplifting tones in this one than I would think a hardcore track would use. For much of this song, the only thing I feel that would make this hardcore is the prevalent bass throughout the song. Regardless of what genre it belongs in though, I think this was a good track. Perhaps a bit repetitive and generic at times, but still good.

Thank you for the review. I was actually looking for a generic song with a banging beat. One that you would find in the public domain, or as background music for a club scene in a tv show or movie.

Thank you,

This was a pretty strange track I think. The guitar in the beginning sounded completely out of place. It sounded like it was a completely different BPM than the drumming in the background. Not to mention that it sounded just like Daft Punk's Aerodynamic there for a second. After about 30 seconds this song seems to go a bit smoother, but still throughout the song the guitar just seems out of place in a lot of spots.

Sawdust responds:

Thanks, I'll change the intro then some time

This is what classical music is for me...sudden drastic changes of intensity and a well planned and executed theme throughout the song. It's really quite a shame that the recording quality is so low on this track, or I would have probably added it to my favorites. I'm no expert on classical music, but I definitely am impressed by it.

sarias responds:

ok i will fix the recording quality ha im sitting here in my music recording studio class right now thanks though for the review

I didn't really like the sample used at the beginning, it sounded a bit odd, especially when played so much. The second half of this song when you stopped using that was much more enjoyable. The ending was kind of cool, but I really think it needs some more variety throughout...some different patterns.

agnryfaic responds:

guess that's just a matter of opinion, some people liked the sample in the start, others didn't.
And I agree, it needs more variety. Thanks for the review ;)

Yeah, I can definitely hear the video game sound you claim it to have. Reminds me of SNES RPG's. It loops pretty nicely, and definitely gives the feel of a nice serene village. Nice job!

Really reminds me of something you would hear in Final Fantasy or something similar. I really like this song, it's got a lot of character to it and great use of many different instruments. Sure wish you could have finished it, but nonetheless it still is good for what is there. I especially like how this builds from what sounds like a sad track at the very beginning to an upbeat and happy tune.

blackattackbitch responds:

It's funny, after listening to this WIP a few times, I can actually tell that I was working myself into a dead end right where this current track ends, just because I can tell that my current choice of melodies would essentially fail to lead to the buildup I was planning to use for the finish. It's probably for the best that I ended it right there.

I'm glad you liked it, and thanks for the review too!

This was pretty awesome! The use of rain and thunder in this really helps to set the ambient mood and to relax as well. The only thing I don't really like is that the last 30 seconds or so is basically just empty space, or at least nothing can be heard there if playing the rest of the song at a comfortable level.

gregaaron89 responds:

"The only thing I don't really like is that the last 30 seconds or so is basically just empty space" Yeah I know, this was made with an album in mind, so ultimately it will just blend into the next song instead of fading out forever :P

Thanks for the review

Well the song is pretty refreshing. I don't normally review rock songs on NG, or one with lyrics. You did a very nice job of the lyrics, they were the best part about this. I think the downside of this song was the guitar. It was well played and placed, but the quality when recorded or exported really hurt this song. Definitely try to get rid of that bad quality.

LenardNotLenny responds:

Again, the bad quality is perceived by the fact that I have so much endless amounts of distortion on there. Thanks for reviewing.

Excellent! I love it! You started with a very calm and ambient feel to this song, and then it changed into an intense D&B track, which I found to be very professionally made and constructed. You varied the song throughout and did a very nice job on an extended length song.

WritersBlock responds:

Cheers, man. Yeah, I'm really glad about how clean and slick this turned out. I'm trying to apply this level of production towards other genres, get a bit of a higher standard going on in my music.

Another excellent jazz song! I really like the very prominent bass guitar played throughout. It's also cool how the song starts off pretty calm, then gets more exciting, and falls back down to being very calm. This song has a really neat sound to it. Great job as always!

JCsoul responds:

Hey milinko, thanks for your comments man!

The bass is actually a Double Bass, a bass guitar would sound more electronic (even if it was fretless).
But I´m glad you liked it.

Hello there! I'm a student of art, in case you didn't know. Yes, I still need to complete materials for my exam and assignment in the liberal arts and other Arts class. I'm just a old kid with a passion for the arts and communication.
